Today its hit 28 degrees in london and I am living for it. Something about the sunshine and seeing everyone happy in the parks makes the city come to life. This week has been one of resetting, organising and planning. I started the week feeling in a rut but somehow managed to turn my attitude around this weekend and feel a little more optimistic, I think the sunshine has something to do with this. For sure.
THE VIBE:
DOING:
This week was a foodie week and I checked out a few new (to me) restaurants in town! On Wednesday we visited Alley Cats for their opening on the Kings Road. I have to say the vodka pizza was to die for, the sauce was divine.
On Thursday I checked out the Compton Arms in Islington and had some delicious small plates with my friend Elena. Devoured the Ricotta di Romagna.
Apart from food, I have also decided to throw myself into a whole life declutter. This began this weekend and I am already happy with my progress. There is something to be said about a sort out that leaves you feeling like a new person. (I am documenting this for yt so make sure you are subscribed here to see the series!)
READING:
Still reading The Idiot (and enjoying.) I have also been enjoying Phoebe’s book instagram and how she curates all these novels, a perfect page of TBR inspo. Excited for Sally Rooney’s Intermezzo.
Newsletter wise I have been enjoying:
Tina always nails it with her writing. Big questions were asked in ways in which I wish I could articulate! A theme I find myself at crossroads with as someone with slow living in their bio, but more often than not has 6 hour + screentime.
My mind is at a constant all the time and even when I ‘schedule’ time to rest it can feel like an impossible task. This piece by Sonja related so much.
WEARING:
I have been loving on french skincare this week. A few weeks ago (for some reason idk) I put tea tree oil directly on my face and had a reaction to it. My skin was so irritated but I dug out some Biafine cream and it sorted it out in a few days. A miracle worker! I’ve also been obsessed with my tinted serum from Typology and The Bisou balm from Violette FR. I used to watch Violette on YouTube years ago and I was so obsessed with her approach to makeup. I’m not really into makeup but the way she uses and talks about makeup makes it all feel do able and fun.
WANTING:
Currently on the hunt for the perfect ‘shacket.’ London summer has been turbulent, and there is a definite need to carry around a jacket at all times in case of emergency rain. I also really want a new pair of trainers! In the move to London I somehow lost/ got rid of all my white trainers and my wardrobe has been missing them. I’ve been scrolling Offcuts waiting for something that catches my eye. I really love nike cortez and see them as my shoe, even though I haven’t worn them in years. I took them interrailing in 2018 and I feel they have been a fail safe ever since.
I would very much like to repurchase but I’m trying to work out which colour to go for? Red or black?
WATCHING:
I discovered Johanna’s YouTube channel and instantly binged all of her content. I love her vibe, she is the ultimate comfort youtuber.
On Saturday night we watched Hidden Figures and it could not have been a more perfect weekend watch!
LISTENING:
Tems has been the soundtrack to this week!
Have the best week ahead and love ya always!
