For me, there was never a better feeling than that of new term stationery. The obligatory WHSmith (or Paperchase, if Mum was feeling fancy) run to pick up new pens, a pencil case, and a fold-out ruler. September is still one of my favourite months for this very reason. The stationery may have changed, but the feeling of newness that September brings is, in some ways, better than that of January—a few months of the year to start afresh and form new habits.

DOING:
The past week has been filled with some real highlights. I attended a lunch with Aesop to celebrate the launch of their new fragrance Viere. It was truly special, my first time at the Barbican Conservatory and it had such a peaceful ambiance. I felt so grateful to be there and with so many lovely new faces too, the event was held in collaboration with Clo Studio and we had some super lovely discussions about scent and memory. The fragrance is delicious too.
I have been spending every free moment exploring south London spots as part of my London coffee guide on IG (in collaboration with my favs, Origin Coffee!) Every weekend has been filled with caffeinated adventures and cosy spots, we nicknamed it a coffee crawl, something I much prefer over a pub crawl these days.
READING:
I haven’t done a whole lot of reading this week, but I enjoyed this by Emily. Obsessed with her writing after I found her on TikTok, her substack is a must.
I’ve been feeling a bit stuck with social media recently, tying a lot of my self-worth to likes and followers. It’s so silly, and I told myself I’d never be like that. That’s not why I do it, but its part and parcel sometimes. I hit burnout recently—there was a lot going on personally, and it reached a point where posting every day felt unsustainable. I stepped off the pedal a little this summer, and allowing myself that break helped me reconnect with the real world. I’m always grateful for the community here online and the connections I’ve made. It’s a balancing act, but thank you for being here.
WEARING:
It feels as if its *almost* trench season again, which I am most excited about. I recently got the Cylde Trench coat from Sezane and the fit is so perfect. It feels a little early to have brought a trench coat, but if you know me you know a trench coat is the most essential piece to my wardrobe.
On my face, I have been enjoying the new Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Foundation Stick. It’s so good, makes putting on makeup feel fun and easy (and it really does a great job.) I also bit the bullet and recently got the Le Specs Work It sunglasses. I much prefer them to the Outta Love sunglasses. Outta Love felt a little too small on my face, I felt like I was in the Matrix. The Work It shape are a little bigger so don’t leave me looking quite so silly.
WANTING:
This month I am going to try my hardest not to give into the trends and buy things for the sake of it. With a new season on the horizon, it feels like every brand seems to be trying to convince us to buy new into the buckle or suede ‘trend.’ It feels like things are moving so fast (is that just me?) I’m still yet to put away my summer clothes!
Trend wise, I’m still obsessing over the Ganni buckle flats and one day I will buy them and shut about it, but for now I don’t need anything.
WATCHING:
We still have no telly, which has been quite a liberating thing. I do miss it ( I am obsessed with the morning news? it brings me such comfort?!) but it feels as if our evenings are endless without the TV. Post dinner, I’ve been journalling, listening to music and reading. We’ve been enjoying watching random BBC archive programs, we most recently watched To the World's End which toured a bus route across London. Random but I enjoyed seeing the city from that time.
LISTENING:
That’s all from me this week! Short but sweet <3 I am going away on my summer hols soon so I will be having a little break (or trying to haha) I would love love to hear from you guys still so please send me any messages or let me know if you want to see anything in particular over the next few months.
Have the best week ahead!
