Autumn equinox has officially arrived, and cosy season is here. I am a summer baby through and through but I am embracing autumn with open arms this year, and retiring my sandals for another year.
DOING:
I can’t believe we find ourselves at the end of September! I escaped what feels like half of September with our trip to Bodrum, Turkey. It was nice to feel warm again and feel the sun on my face, summer here in London was possibly the worst yet, so I feel grateful to have topped up the tan. We daytripped to Kos, Greece which was wonderful, and I think Greece may be on the list next year for a visit. Our trip was slightly tainted by the fact that our luggage was left behind in Gatwick for the first day and a half, I will explain more in another newsletter but it taught me a few lessons about my wardrobe (and packing lol) even as someone who prides themselves on a more minimal approach to dressing.
READING:
The lack of wifi on our recent holiday meant I hit the TBR list hard. I read The Guest by Emma Cline (which was interesting) and Big Swiss (I didn’t love this as much as I thought I would… an easy read though, will be watching the series when it comes out.) The best book I read was All The Light We Cannot See. Not my usual fiction, but I couldn’t put it down, devoured it in a day.
WEARING:
I eeked out the summer dressing for a little bit longer, and really enjoyed button ups and boxer shorts from Speltham. Now autumn has appeared, I am most looking forward to wearing my new cardigans from Charli and my Sezane trench, I am patiently watching the door until that arrives. On my face, I have been obsessing over my Max Factor Serum Foundation. Full transparency, I did an ad for this on TikTok but I am hooked. A big perk to this job is being able to try so many new products. I feel like the hunt for a good foundation can be tricky, but this one gives such a good glow. Genuniely get so many compliments when I wear it, and its only £12! It would be rude if I didn’t shout more about this.
WANTING:
Trying not to fall victim to seasonal trends, whatever that may be. re-purchased the COS barrel trousers after my last debacle with them.* I now am obsessed with the fit of them and would love them in all their colours, but most crucially the tracksuit verison for the cosy evenings ahead. Also in love with The Elvie sunglasses from Jimmy Fairly, and have been lusting after rings from Agno after I stumbled across them on TikTok.
*I forget if I told you guys, but I found the COS barrel trousers on Vinted for £30, wore them once proceeded to spill chocolate all over them, then burnt a massive hole in them using OXY bleach stain removal. Tears were shed.
WATCHING:
I haven’t watched too much recently due to my offline month but I have really enjoyed watching Jen Harris’ vlogs! Inspired by her August vlogs, I have decided to attempt Vlogtober… A little scared but I think it will be a fun challenge. I used to love watching Sunbeamsjess and Zoella’s vlogtober challenges so it feels only right to try myself!
LISTENING:
This playlist is absolute perfection. A perfect autumn morning playlist.
Thank you for being here! Will be sharing some wardrobe lessons next week!
