Nowadays it feels like Christmas begins in September. It really is a four month long prep. You start thinking about your plans, people start planning dinners and festive activities, before you know it every weekend is booked up! Now that it is finally December, I do feel ready to embrace the festivities. I’ve created a few fun gift guides and Christmas posts for you which I will be scheduling for the next few weeks and I can’t wait to hear what you think.
THE VIBE:
self care, blue & ribbons
DOING:
This week I have been trying to slowly get into the Christmas spirit, by watching festive films and easing my way into the Christmas music. I’ve been struggling a little bit the last week with a little bit of sad. I don’t often talk about my own mental health on here, but I've been struggling a little bit with the seasons changing and managing my own expectations. Since doing content creation more as a ‘job’, I find myself comparing myself to others more and more. I still work part time, I don’t think I could do content creation full time for my own sanity, but the comparison issue is REAL. I spend so much of my time scrolling pinterest, IG and TT and wishing I had this, that or looked a certain way. It’s silly, but I think we are all guilty of it in some way, so I’ve been trying to be a little easier on myself and stop spending so much time on these apps, which is hard when I love them so much haha. Reading has definitely helped me get off my phone though, and I have been devouring Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow. It’s amazing!! Thanks to all who recommended this one <3
WEARING:
I have been obsessed with leopard print for a while now, and these Damson Madder trousers have been doing the rounds on my TT and IG feeds for some time, but as much as love them, I just haven’t been able to justify spending so much on them (that and the fact they’ve been sold out for a while haha.) I popped by Tk Maxx the other day and found these amazing dupes for £9.99. They’re originally from Stradivarius which is a shop I don’t often go to, but the fit is perfect. I’ve been loving pairing them with my Pull & Bear check coat which I picked up in the sale.
WANTING:
Now that the temperature has dropped, my list is topped primarily by the need for warm gloves, thermals and a cosy coat. I brought a cropped puffer coat a few years ago, bc I saw Kendall wearing this one:
and as much as I like it, I’m over having a cold bum lol. I want a full on duvet coat and some cosy Uniqlo thermals, is that too much to ask?
green puffer // baggy jeans // black coat // stripe trousers // uniqlo thermals // cosy socks // cosy gloves // suede bag
WATCHING:
I’ve been really trying to embrace the Christmas spirit so I’ve been watching a few of my festive favs to help. My friends came over on Friday night and we watched the Holiday which amazing ofc, but we were really laughing at Jude Law’s characters daughters, an underrated appearance imo. Hilarious.
Online, I’ve been finding inspo in these accounts. I know it’s winter, but I find myself favouring more summer feeds at the moment. I find summer is much easier to dress for, in winter you just end up hiding your whole outfit in oversized knits.
Ida’s style is amazing and I love how she plays with primary colours.

LISTENING:
Spotify wrapped came out this week which was funny because my top song was Lizzo ‘About Damn Time.’ It’s the song I have to listen to if I’m having a panic attack or about to take off on a plane, so in that way wrapped has really summarised my year.
This week however, I’ve been enjoying some slower piano tunes. As we enter December I feel quite reflective on the year, and find myself planning ideas for the new year. I have a whole post planned on this, but for now enjoy the playlist.
Have a lovely week ahead and catch you later on for some fun gift guides…
Lexie xx
