things to make in march
a list of things I will be making this spring
The first signs of spring have arrived and all the projects I have saved to my pinterest suddenly feel like they need to be done. There is something about seeing the sun which immediately fills me with energy. Every half finished project is about to get a second look in.
To keep me somewhat accountable and inspired here is a curated list of things to make in March. I hope it fills you with some inspo too!
Pojagi Curtains:
I’ve been loving these Pojagi inspired curtains and really want to make a big tapestry to hang on our back wall. We have a beautiful curtain in our living room made by Kaschuba Hommage , and I love how the light comes through. I love how you can utilise scrap fabric and remnants to create a story of sorts. I saw a beautiful curtain somewhere with a family heirloom scarf that had begun to fall apart. It is a wonderful way to make use and repurpose old goods.
These videos here and here are super helpful to learn how more about Pojagi and the technique.
Flippy Skirt:
I have started saving patterns and things to make when for when the sun graces us with its presence. I have been loving the look of a 2000’s style ‘flippy skirt’ with ballet flats/ kitten heels. I think its a super simple silhouette but looks so cute. It makes for a quick DIY but I found this pattern that I will be using.
Beaded Coasters:
Macrame is having a moment and I think these little coasters are so sweet. When I was in Amsterdam last summer I saw some in a little boutique but they were a little overpriced. They’ve been on my mind ever since, and after seeing a few tutorials circulating on TikTok I think it’s time to try my luck at making them. I love the natural materials and how they look contrasted with the metal textures in the above photos.
Scrapbooking:
I am a prolific journaler, but not so much a scrapbooker. I find it a little overwhelming narrowing down my photos and memories to stick on the page. I have boxes of tickets, postcards and memorabilia just waiting for a home. This month I hope to dedicate some time to scrapbooking and giving these memories a space, Cameron Nuttall has some brilliant videos on her scrapbooking process so I shall be taking notes.
Summer Bag:
Sometimes with craft it feels as though you have to be one step ahead of the seasons in order for projects to be finished in good time. I have been planning to make a summer beach bag but am yet to decide how this will come about. I love the Yin Yang tote above and the raffia mesh crochet totes. There are so many amazing patterns out there but I’m tempted to start from scratch and create something of my own. I will let you know.
With that, I shall leave you with a monthly march playlist.
I hope your month is filled with creativity and inspiration too!
