week 19
things I'm enjoying, watching, making and wanting
happy sunday! It’s feeling cosy here, I have lit my White Company Saint Florent candle, have an audiobook playing and Archie is cooking dinner. I have been savouring slower days recently and trying to remind myself that rest is not wasted time.
Life has been super busy with the same old excuses. I’ve gone back to balancing content, freelancing in my pr job again and working on my crochet plans. I decided to go back to ‘regular’ work last month which is something I spoke about in this vlog. It’s been the right call for me, working as part of a team was something I really missed in my year of full time influencing.
I went on my first brand trip with Rouri to Menorca and tried to take as much of my crochet with me, I used to hate flying on my own but I think this trip was a turning point for me and I spent both flights furiously crocheting alone in the clouds. It was really dreamy to spend a few days with the Rouri girls, I found it super inspiring listening about the brand and learning from all the girls.
I wanted to run through a few things I’ve been enjoying, watching, making and wanting with you! I need to get back into the rhythm of writing again which I totally blame on the fact that I haven’t read one book this year!! I feel the two are correlated, my text messages genuinely haven’t been making sense and I need to exercise my reading/ writing muscle again. I picked up Heart The Lover this week though and I think it might be my first read of the year.
current favourites:
morning walks along the river
fresh orange juice
my star ice cube tray (found in TKMax! I have been looking everywhere for one.)
watching:
I just finished Sex and The City for the first time and I am about to rewatch it again. I tried with And Just Like That, but it doesn’t hit the same for obvious reasons. There is something about the original storyline, the fashion and New York just is so good! I wish there was something modern day that hit the same. I find myself constantly scrolling on Vinted for cute Manolo Blahnik’s.
I’m not a bit of an 80s movie roll at the moment. I watched Father of the Bride the other night and it is one of my favourite films and I’ve really been enjoying the pace of 80s films. We are so spoilt with cinema today but films are so fast, it’s been interesting to notice the difference in older movies.
listening:
I saw Olivia Dean last week at the o2 and it was unreal! I am obsessed with her voice and her. I think she is quite possibly the coolest. I had to buy her tour poster of course.
My favourite DJ set at the moment:
wearing:
I rediscovered abercrombie recently and their jeans are great? I picked up this pair of white jeans and a polka dot skirt which I have been wearing a lot and enjoy how swishy it is. I’ve also been enjoying my new Songmont bag*. I did a job with them over on Instagram (not being paid to write this fyi, but working with them is always a dream bc I am obsessed with the quality of their bags!!) and they sent me the Lattice Shellseeker Bag. I always appreciate the practicality of their bags, you can tell the thought that goes into them.
I have also been very much enjoying not wearing trainers! After the marathon I treated myself to the Naples Birkenstocks. I got my first pair of Birkenstocks three years ago and I have worn them everyday since. In recent times, the cork had disintegrated and I would find myself slipping over in them, so I upgraded to the Naples and they are soo cute. A much needed change.
*the code lexiepath gets you a free card holder if you spent over $300 at Songmont:)
admiring:
Archie accidently shrunk two of my navy jumpers this year and I am resisting the temptation to replace them with the J Crew Roll Neck jumper. They did such a huge influencer campaign in December for that jumper and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to want to buy into it. It looks annoyingly perfect.
I am also very much enjoying a bermuda short. A short that sits somewhere between a capri and a short, I’m not entirely sure what this is called? With a ballet flat and an oversized tee, it is a great summer look. Convinced I will be able to find some on vinted though so I’ll keep you posted when I do.
making:
Writing my patterns has been occupying a lot of my time but I just finished this sun hat which I love. I really can’t wait for the sunnier weather to rejoin us so I can wear it again around London. I think it would love so cute in a navy blue, cobalt blue and white stripe too!
That is all for today but I will catch you sooon! Have the best week ahead!
love,
Lexie x
