happy 2025 friends! I hope you have been easing into the new year and that 25 is treating you well so far. This first week has been slow and intentional. It’s felt a little like an extended holiday, but I’m feeling ready for more structure that next week will bring. Sunday scaries? I don’t know her.
This week, I invested in a new vlogging camera with the intention of weekly vlogging and I’m already excited to begin.
DOING: I got back to london on the new years eve, just as my cold/flu worsened so I have spent much of the week in bed recovering. While it was nice timing for setting new goals and vision boarding (aka scrolling Pinterest for hours), I was annoyed to see the new year in sick. That being said, I’m on the mend and have developed an addiction to M&S spicy ginger shots (the ones with the red cap) and smoothies.
READING: I find it almost impossible to dedicate myself solely to one book. This week I’ve been jumping between two books that I got for Christmas. My friend Claudia gave me Art & Fear which has been so inspiring for getting back into creating after a creative blip.
Archie got me a really interesting book called The Rising Downs. It was a strange coincidence as we kept seeing it in bookshops and its written by an author with the exact same name as me about the city and surrounding areas where I grew up. I’ve been enjoying dabbling in it, uncovering hidden histories, and developing a stronger appreciation for home.
WEARING: It’s been hibernation season, but I’ve been enjoying accessorising when I do venture out. My mum gave me this new triangle scarf from Urban Outfitters for Christmas, its super cosy! I’ve also been rotating my gold hoops, switching between small and large sizes depending on my mood. Simple but satisfying.
LOVING: I finally lit my mini Diptyque Ambre candle that Archie got me for Christmas last year. I have such a thing about saving my ‘nice things’ for best, but nice things are to be enjoyed! It smells so divine, leaves the whole house smelling warm and cosy.
I’ve also been trying to implement little luxuries this first week, namely taking baths on the daily. It feels like a true luxury. 2025 is the year of the bath, catch me in the tub with my Mirror Water bath salts.
Also, hot chocolate! I’m slowly weaning myself off coffee, and wow, I forgot how much I love a good hot chocolate. Especially the one from Fabrique.
WATCHING:
Shrinking on Apple TV. The best thing I’ve watched in a while, binged the whole thing this week the writing is phenomenal.
I finally got Netflix again and have spent a lot of time playing catch up. Obsessing over nobody wants this and cannot wait for season 2.
On YouTube, I have been catching up on Eva Meloche’s content. I always find her work ethic so inspiring and I love her creative eye.
LISTENING:
catch you next week!
love, lexie x
Oh my gosh I watched Nobody Wants This completely through twice! It’s been a few weeks so I think I’ll go for a third time…
